1. Introduction

Welcome to EventThreads. EventThreads operates a United Kingdom event supplier and events directory. We help event professionals discover suppliers and events, save business cards to a personal wallet, and help businesses present and manage their listings.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the EventThreads website and related features currently available on the platform.

By accessing or using EventThreads, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Listing Guidelines. Please read those documents carefully.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law to use EventThreads. The platform is intended for event professionals, businesses, and individuals using the service for legitimate business or professional purposes.

When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account details up to date where reasonably possible.

You must complete your member profile where required before submitting listings, claims, or other gated actions. Profile information should fairly represent you in a professional context.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for activity that occurs through your account, except where caused by our fault.

You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

We may suspend or restrict accounts where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached, where activity poses a risk to the platform or other users, or where required for security, legal, or moderation reasons.

3. Supplier listings

EventThreads includes supplier profiles containing business information such as descriptions, services, locations, contact details, images, and social links. Some listings are added by EventThreads, imported from reputable sources, or submitted by users through self-registration and updated by approved owners.

If you submit, claim, or edit a listing, you are responsible for the accuracy, lawfulness, and appropriateness of the information you provide. Our Listing Guidelines explain what we expect in more detail.

  • Information should fairly represent the business and the services it offers
  • Contact details and links should be current and belong to the relevant business
  • Content must not be misleading, defamatory, infringing, or unlawful
  • You should not publish personal data on a public listing unless you are comfortable with it being visible in the directory

Listings may be reviewed before publication, particularly where submitted through “List your business”. EventThreads may approve, reject, request changes, feature, verify, adjust directory placement, suspend, or remove listings in line with these Terms and our moderation processes.

Published listings are intended to be publicly visible in the directory. Draft, pending, or suspended listings are handled differently and may not appear publicly in the same way.

Featured, verified, or higher-visibility placement reflects platform review or commercial arrangements at a point in time. They are not guarantees of quality, safety, or suitability.

4. Event listings

EventThreads publishes information about upcoming industry events, including trade shows, conferences, and related gatherings. Some events are added by EventThreads or administrators; others may be submitted through “List your event”.

If you submit an event, you must be authorised to provide the information and it must accurately describe the event, dates, venue, and organiser details.

  • Event submissions require a signed-in account and completed member profile
  • Submissions may be reviewed before publication
  • You must not submit fake events, misleading dates, or events you do not reasonably represent
  • Event information may become outdated; you should keep owned or submitted events accurate where you have the ability to update them

EventThreads does not sell tickets or process event registrations. Links to organiser or third-party websites are provided for convenience only.

5. Ownership claims

Some supplier listings may be claimable by the business that owns or legitimately represents them. If you submit a claim, you must do so truthfully and only if you are authorised to represent that business.

  • Claims require a signed-in account and completed member profile
  • You may be asked for your role, business contact details, a message explaining the claim, and optional supporting evidence such as a website or document link
  • Claims are reviewed by EventThreads administrators before ownership is granted

False, misleading, or repeated abusive claims may be rejected. We may request additional information before making a decision.

Approval of a claim grants the ability to manage the relevant listing within the platform. It does not create any employment, agency, partnership, or endorsement relationship between EventThreads and the claiming business.

6. Uploaded content and intellectual property

Users may upload images and logos for supplier and event listings, subject to platform limits and technical requirements. You retain ownership of content you upload.

By submitting content to EventThreads, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the directory, including on public profiles, search results, wallet cards, and related platform features.

This licence continues for as long as the content remains on the platform and for a reasonable period afterwards where needed for backups, moderation records, or legal compliance.

You must have the right to upload any image, logo, or other material you submit. Do not upload content that infringes copyright, trademarks, privacy rights, or other third-party rights.

We may remove uploaded content that appears unlawful, misleading, inappropriate, or inconsistent with these Terms.

If you believe content on EventThreads infringes your intellectual property rights, contact us at hello@eventthreads.co.uk with enough detail for us to investigate (including the URL, your relationship to the rights, and why you believe the content should be removed).

EventThreads branding, website design, curated Daily Thread presentation, and original platform content are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.

7. Daily Threads

Daily Threads are editorial industry briefings published by EventThreads. They may summarise news, link to third-party sources, and include images selected or licensed for that purpose.

Daily Threads are provided for general information only. They are not legal, financial, safety, or professional advice.

Third-party articles linked from Daily Threads are controlled by their publishers. EventThreads does not endorse every statement in external publications.

You may share links to Daily Threads or supplier and event profiles using normal browser sharing features, subject to these Terms.

8. Wallet and QR features

EventThreads provides a business card wallet that lets users save supplier profiles for later reference. You may use the wallet with or without an account; guest wallet activity may be linked to a cookie on your device until you sign in.

If you sign in after using the wallet as a guest, saved cards may be merged into your account.

Expanded wallet cards and QR code sharing are provided for convenience. QR codes generated within EventThreads link to public supplier profile pages on the platform.

Wallet and QR features do not guarantee that a supplier remains available, published, verified, or suitable for your needs. You should always review a supplier’s current profile before relying on saved information.

9. Directory information

EventThreads aims to provide useful supplier and event information for the UK events industry, but we do not guarantee that every listing is complete, current, or error-free.

Listing details may change over time, and information may become outdated between updates by the business, EventThreads, or platform administrators.

Verification, featured status, or higher directory placement, where shown, reflects platform review or commercial arrangements at a point in time. They are not guarantees of quality, safety, availability, pricing, insurance, licensing, or suitability for a particular event.

Users should independently verify supplier and event details, credentials, availability, and contractual terms before making decisions.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse EventThreads. In particular, you must not:

  • Use the platform for unlawful purposes
  • Submit fraudulent claims, false listings, fake events, or misleading business information
  • Upload malicious, harmful, abusive, or infringing content
  • Spam the contact form or otherwise abuse platform communication channels
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or compromise the platform or its infrastructure
  • Use automated means to access the platform in a way that places unreasonable load on our systems, except where we explicitly allow it (for example standard search engine indexing of public pages)
  • Access accounts, admin tools, or data you are not authorised to access
  • Impersonate another person or business
  • Circumvent bot protection, rate limits, or other security controls

We may investigate suspected misuse and take appropriate action, including restricting access or removing content.

11. Moderation and removal

To keep the directory trustworthy and usable, EventThreads may moderate accounts, listings, claims, submissions, and uploaded content.

Without limiting other remedies, we may:

  • Review listings, claims, event submissions, and self-submitted businesses before or after publication
  • Request corrections or additional evidence
  • Edit administrative metadata or moderation notes internally
  • Hide, suspend, reject, or remove listings, events, or accounts
  • Revoke ownership, verification, featured status, or adjusted directory placement where appropriate

We are not obliged to monitor all content in advance, and moderation decisions are made in our reasonable discretion to protect the platform and its users.

12. Third-party services

EventThreads relies on established third-party services to operate the platform. These currently include:

  • Supabase — authentication, database hosting, and image storage
  • Resend — sending service-related email notifications
  • Vercel — website hosting and delivery
  • Cloudflare — Turnstile bot protection on public forms
  • Google Maps — embedded maps on full supplier profile pages where a specific location is shown
  • OpenStreetMap — map tiles on the event map page

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy practices. EventThreads is not responsible for third-party websites or services you access through supplier profiles, event listings, Daily Thread source links, contact links, or embedded content.

Supplier websites, social media pages, event organiser sites, email addresses, and phone numbers displayed on profiles are controlled by those third parties, not by EventThreads.

13. Limitation of liability

EventThreads is a directory and discovery platform. We help users discover suppliers and events and present business information, but we are not a party to any contract, booking, engagement, or transaction between users, suppliers, or event organisers.

Any enquiry, hire, purchase, ticket booking, or arrangement you make with a supplier or event organiser is at your own discretion and risk. EventThreads does not endorse, guarantee, or supervise listed businesses or events unless we expressly state otherwise in writing.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, EventThreads will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or economic loss arising from your use of the platform, including loss of business, profits, data, or goodwill.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

If you are using EventThreads as a business user, you accept that the platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, and we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

14. Changes to the service

EventThreads may evolve over time. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, categories, editorial formats, moderation processes, or design elements as the product develops.

We may introduce paid listing placement or promotional visibility in future. Where that affects how listings are ordered or displayed, we will present it clearly in the product.

We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but we do not guarantee that any particular feature will remain available in its current form.

15. Termination

You may stop using EventThreads at any time. You may contact us to request account deletion, subject to retention described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate access to some or all of the platform if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if continued provision of the service to you would create risk for EventThreads or other users.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a business user, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of EventThreads, except where mandatory consumer protection law gives you rights to bring proceedings elsewhere.

We hope to resolve concerns informally first. Please contact us before starting formal proceedings where possible.

17. Contact

If you have questions about these Terms, need help with your account, or want to report a concern about a listing, event, or claim, contact us:

Email: hello@eventthreads.co.uk

You can also use the contact form on our website for support enquiries.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example when we add new features, change moderation practices, or update legal requirements.

When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Where appropriate, we may also notify users through the website or by email.

Your continued use of EventThreads after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the platform.
