1. Purpose

These Listing Guidelines explain what EventThreads expects from supplier and event listings on the platform.

They support our Terms of Service and help keep the directory accurate, professional, and useful for the UK events industry.

If you submit, claim, or manage a listing, you are responsible for following these guidelines.

2. Accuracy and honesty

Listings should fairly represent a real business or event.

  • Use the correct business or event name
  • Describe services, dates, venue, and location accurately
  • Keep contact details and website links current
  • Do not impersonate another organisation or misstate your relationship to a listing
  • Update listings when important details change, where you have the ability to do so

We may reject, suspend, or request changes to listings that appear misleading, incomplete, or out of date.

3. Supplier listing content

Supplier profiles are public business listings. Content should be professional and relevant to the events industry.

  • Choose the category and subcategory that best matches the business
  • Write descriptions in clear, factual language
  • Only include contact details you are authorised to publish for the business
  • Use tags that genuinely describe the business or services offered
  • Do not include unrelated promotions, competitor attacks, or unrelated keywords solely to manipulate search

Avoid publishing sensitive personal data (for example private home addresses or personal mobile numbers) unless you intend for that information to be public business contact details.

4. Event listing content

Event listings should help professionals discover real upcoming industry events.

  • Submit only events you are authorised to represent or that are genuinely open to the relevant audience
  • Provide accurate dates, venue, location, and organiser information
  • Use images you have the right to publish
  • Do not submit duplicate entries for the same event unless asked to do so by EventThreads
  • Do not use the event directory for unrelated advertising or non-event promotions

5. Images, logos, and copyright

You must have the right to upload any image, logo, or visual asset you submit.

  • Use your own photography, licensed stock, or assets you have permission to use
  • Do not upload images copied from other businesses, directories, or websites without permission
  • Logos and trademarks should belong to the business or event being listed
  • Images should be relevant and professional
  • Do not upload offensive, explicit, or unlawful imagery

We may remove images that appear infringing, misleading, low quality, or inappropriate for a professional directory.

6. Claims and ownership

Only claim a supplier listing if you are authorised to represent that business.

  • Provide truthful contact details and your role at the business
  • Submit supporting evidence when asked
  • Do not claim listings for competitors, former employers you no longer represent, or businesses you do not control
  • One legitimate owner or management relationship per listing, as determined by EventThreads review

Abusive or repeated false claims may result in rejected claims or account restrictions.

7. Featured, verified, and promoted placement

Some listings may receive featured status, verification badges, or higher directory placement.

These designations reflect review processes or commercial arrangements at a point in time. They are not endorsements of quality, safety, licensing, insurance, or suitability.

EventThreads may change how placement works as the product develops. We will present paid or promotional visibility clearly in the product when it applies.

8. Prohibited content and conduct

Do not use listings or submissions to publish or promote:

  • Unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive content
  • Hate speech, harassment, or abusive material
  • Malware, phishing, or harmful links
  • Sexually explicit or gratuitously violent content
  • Content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights
  • Spam, pyramid schemes, or unrelated mass marketing

9. Review and moderation

EventThreads may review listings and submissions before or after publication.

We may edit internal moderation metadata, request corrections, reject submissions, suspend listings, or remove content that breaches these guidelines or our Terms of Service.

Moderation decisions are made to protect directory quality and user trust. We are not obliged to publish every submission.

10. Reporting issues

If you see a listing that appears inaccurate, misleading, infringing, or inappropriate, please tell us.

Email hello@eventthreads.co.uk or use the contact form on our website. Include the listing URL, what appears wrong, and your relationship to the issue if relevant.

For intellectual property complaints, include enough detail for us to identify the content and assess the rights concern.

We aim to review reports reasonably promptly, but response times may vary depending on complexity.

11. Changes to these guidelines

We may update these Listing Guidelines as EventThreads grows and our moderation practices evolve.

When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
